长期从事工业微生物学和生物制药方向的研究，主要承担微生物学、微生物遗传育种课程的讲授工作。近年来共发表高水平研究论文15篇，出版教材3部；申请发明专利7项，授权发明专利4项；主持包括国家“863”、江苏省科技支撑计划等在内的省部级科研项目2项；获得中国石油和化工科技进步三等奖1项。历任江南大学第六、七、八、九、十届教学督导，并兼任生物工程学院教学督导组长。
