长期从事应用微生物代谢工程及合成生物学技术构建高效微生物细胞工厂生产精细化工品的研究，主要承担《氨基酸工艺学》课程的讲授工作。近年来共发表高水平研究论文60余篇，其中SCI收录30余篇，主编和参与出版专著（或教材）5部；申请发明专利10项，授权发明专利5项；主持包括国家863项目等在内的省部级科研项目2项；获得中国轻工业联合会科技进步三等奖1项、中国石油和化学工业联合会科技进步二等奖1项和一等奖1项。现为中国生物发酵产业协会氨基酸分会理事。
